There is something about returning to the open prairie that makes me feel like I can breathe a little deeper.

This painting was inspired by that feeling—the sky stretching endlessly above, the land settling into its own quiet rhythm, and the wind moving through the fields. There isn't always a dramatic destination or moment. Sometimes it is simply about standing still long enough to notice where you are.

I wanted to capture that sense of space and calm through expressive colour, movement, and the openness of the landscape.

For me, the prairie has a way of making everything feel a little less complicated. The sky is big, the horizon is far away, and for a moment there is room to simply be.

This piece is about returning to that feeling—to the quiet, the openness, and the places that give us space to breathe.
