This 18-inch round original was inspired by cornflowers and their symbolism of hope, courage, and unity. I wanted the flowers to feel vibrant and expressive, using colour, line, and texture to create a piece filled with movement and life.
I created this piece using encaustic, painting and building layers with heated wax. I love this process because the surface becomes such an important part of the finished artwork—each layer holds marks, colour, and texture from the ones that came before it.
For me, this piece is about beauty, but also about strength and hope—the way something delicate can still stand tall and resilient.
