Sometimes I don't need a deeper reason for loving a place. It just feels good to be there.
It Just Feels Good was inspired by being among the trees—the light filtering through, the layers of green, and the beautiful irregular lines of the trunks reaching upward. I wanted the painting to feel alive, so I let colour and expressive linework move through the landscape rather than trying to make everything perfect.
I especially love the unexpected blues, reds, and turquoise woven through the more natural greens and yellows. They capture the way I remember a place emotionally rather than exactly as it appeared.
For me, this painting is about those places that make us feel better simply by being in them. No big moment. No grand destination. Just trees, colour, light, and that wonderful feeling of being exactly where you want to be.
