There is something about the Alberta prairies that makes me notice the lines—the edges of fields, roads stretching into the distance, changing colours, and the marks left across the land over time.
Layers and Lines was inspired by those patterns and the stories I imagine held within them. I used expressive linework, texture, and layers of colour to capture the prairie as I feel it rather than one specific view.
For me, the landscape is never just what we see on the surface. It holds what came before—the seasons, the people, the changes, and all the moments that have quietly become part of the land.
