There is something about driving through the Alberta prairies under one of our enormous skies that makes the landscape feel like it goes on forever.
This painting was inspired by a view along Highway 2—open fields stretching toward the horizon, cows grazing in the distance, and that unmistakable Alberta sky taking up so much of the view.
I wanted to capture the openness and possibility I feel in this landscape. The title, She Believed She Could, So She Did, became part of that feeling for me. It is about believing in yourself enough to try, moving forward even when you aren't entirely sure where it will lead, and discovering what you are capable of along the way.
For me, this painting brings those two ideas together: the wide-open Alberta prairie and the feeling that there is still so much ahead of us.
