There are certain scenes that immediately feel like the Canadian prairies to me.
Visit to the Prairies was inspired by a field after harvest, with rolled bales scattered across the land and the wide-open sky stretching above. It is a familiar sight, but one I never seem to tire of.
I love thinking about the stories held in these fields—the work that came before, the changing seasons, and generations of people connected to this land.
For me, this little painting is about appreciating a landscape we sometimes drive past without really noticing. There is so much beauty in its simplicity.
