‘Where I Stand: Shoot for the Moon’ - Art Card Blank Inside with Envelope Included

$6.00

Part of my Where I Stand series, Shoot for the Moon was created in response to Alberta Finance Minister Nate Horner’s remark that teachers were “shooting for the moon” in asking for smaller class sizes, proper supports, and meaningful investment in public education.

As both an artist and a teacher, those words stayed with me.

Painted from my perspective, this piece reclaims that phrase—not as criticism, but as conviction. If advocating for classrooms where every child is known, supported, and given the opportunity to succeed is “shooting for the moon,” then it is a goal worth pursuing.

The welcome mat becomes a quiet act of resilience. It reminds us that progress begins by standing our ground, believing in something better, and refusing to lower our expectations for students, educators, and public education.

Where I Stand: Shoot for the Moon is about hope, advocacy, and the courage to keep asking for what matters—even when others suggest you’re asking for too much.

Blank inside for your own message. Includes a matching envelope.
