Looking Back - ORIGINAL Alberta Landscape Painting - 16x20 inch - Maligne Canyon

$325.00

Maligne Canyon is one of those places I never seem to tire of. We have returned to this incredible Jasper landscape year after year, and each time I find something new to notice and paint.

Looking Back is a variation inspired by one of the six bridges along the Maligne Canyon hike. I love the experience of moving through the canyon—crossing the bridges, looking down into the rushing water, and then turning back to see where we have just been.

For me, the title Looking Back is about more than the view. Places we return to become layered with memories. Each visit holds pieces of the ones that came before it—the people we were with, the adventures we had, and the way the landscape made us feel.

This painting is a little piece of one of my favourite places and a reminder that sometimes looking back is part of what makes returning so meaningful.
