This painting was inspired by one of my children’s performances at the Arden Theatre in St. Albert as part of their Suzuki School winter concert. I remember sitting in the audience, watching and listening, knowing that this was one of those moments I wanted to hold onto.
There is something special about seeing your child on a stage, surrounded by other young musicians, creating something beautiful together. The music eventually ends and everyone goes home, but the feeling of being there stays.
For me, this painting is about those experiences we capture in our souls and carry with us—the pride, the music, the connection, and the privilege of watching our children become who they are.
