There is something about starting a day in Jasper that makes you feel like something beautiful is waiting for you.
Ready for a Beautiful Day was inspired by Maligne Canyon, a place I have returned to again and again. I love the way the light moves through the trees, the rugged canyon walls, the rushing water, and the feeling of setting out on the trail with the whole day still ahead.
I wanted this painting to capture that sense of possibility—the moment before the exploring really begins, when you are surrounded by the Rockies and simply happy to be there.
For me, Ready for a Beautiful Day is about more than Maligne Canyon. It is about those mornings when you know you are exactly where you want to be, with nowhere you need to rush to next.
