The Way Back was inspired by Astotin Lake in Elk Island National Park. I wanted to capture that wide-open feeling—the lake stretching out in front of you, the land meeting the horizon, and a sky that seems to take up more space than everything else.
For me, the title The Way Back is about more than finding your way home. It is about returning to familiar places, taking the slower road, and noticing the landscape along the way.
