There is something about Athabasca Falls that makes me want to stop and take it all in—the sound of the water, the mist in the air, and the incredible power of the river moving through the rock.
Through the Mist was inspired by one of my visits to Athabasca Falls in Jasper National Park. I wanted to capture the energy of the rushing water and the way the landscape seems to appear and disappear through the spray.
For me, this painting is less about recreating every detail of the falls and more about remembering what it feels like to stand there—to feel the mist, hear the water, and be surrounded by the wild beauty of Jasper.
