Some of my favourite Edmonton memories come from places that appeared unexpectedly and gave us a new way to experience our city.
Together at Accidental Beach was inspired by time spent along the North Saskatchewan River at Edmonton’s Accidental Beach. I love seeing people gather there—sitting by the water, exploring the shoreline, and enjoying this temporary little beach with the city still surrounding us.
For me, this painting is really about the together in the title. It is about sharing a place, being outside, and those simple moments with other people that often become the memories we hold onto.
