You Are There With Me was inspired by the feeling of being among the trees, following the trail and eventually coming upon the falls. I wanted to capture that sense of wonder—the forest surrounding you, the sound of the water, and the feeling of discovering something beautiful tucked into the landscape.
For me, though, the places I paint are rarely only about the place. They are also about who was there with me. The title You Are There With Me is about those shared adventures and how the people we experience them with become part of our memories of a place.
